Hi guys! Back with another review and this time I’m bringing you a review on Evolve Beauty*. I’ve been trying out some of their products for a quite a long period of time so I could really get a feel for the product. Also I’ve done a mini review on some of Evolve’s products in my Flourish Sample Service post. I’ve been testing out the Evolve Fresh Face Facial Wash, the Evolve African Orange Aromatic Wash, and the Evolve Skin Saviour Body Oil.
I love this face wash. It gives you a daily dose of gentle exfoliation using with goji and papaya. A small dose of gentle exfoliation is key for bright skin. On days that I am wearing makeup, I love using this with my Clarosonic to double cleanse after I’ve melted off all my makeup (using a balm or an oil cleanser like the S5 Skincare Nourish Cleanser) . I started off using this everyday, twice a day, but I think this combined with all of the acid masks I was doing; I managed to dry my skin out. Now that I’ve learnt my lesson, I use this 4-5 times a week. Usually I use this evenings only – in the mornings there is not a major need to use a foaming cleanser because I have cleaned it thoroughly the night before.
It’s nice to have a foaming cleanser like this one along side your oil cleansers, or makeup melts to wash off the oily residue. The clear gel consistency products a good amout of lather and leaves your skin leaving very clean without feeling stripped. Mind you, it’s not as gentle as Skin Blossom Gentle Face Wash or Simple Moisturising Face Wash (I know it’s not a natural brand, just using it as a reference for those of you not similar with Skin Blossom).
Retailing at £14 I think this is well worth it – this 100ml bottle has lasted me and my other half months. It lasts for ages because I find that I use such a little. Organic products are more potent so you have to keep in mind that you will use less and it will last longer than your standard Neutrogena face wash.
This is by far one of the best citrus body washes I have ever used. It smells like real oranges and not that fake household-cleaner-citrus smell. It comes out as a thick clear gel consistency and produces a good amount of lather. As much as Dr Bronner’s Castile Soap is very economical (because I dilute it with oil to use it as a body wash), it’s got quite a runny consistency which isn’t my favourite thing for a body wash.
The Evolve African Orange Aromatic Wash is probably the most luxe body wash I have ever used. And if you’re like me and wouldn’t spend £18 on a body wash, then you will understand why I still don’t think I’d spend this sort of money on a body wash. Body wash is something I don’t use sparingly (whether it’s natural or not) so it will run out pretty quickly. Having said that it is reallllly enjoyable and I wish it wasn’t so expensive but given the ingredients use, I understand the price point. It’s definitely something I’d gift someone or ask for as a present because it is a luxury body wash.
This oil is designed to be targeted at areas that are prone to scarring or stretch marks. Similar to the idea of Bio Oil, you’re meant to use this on the desired area and overtime see a difference.
This does not have a strong scent, very subtle notes of rosehip oils and mandarin. Similarly to rosehip oil, this oil is naturally quite bright in colour so I’d wait for it to dry before wearing clothes or just don’t be lazy and massage it in properly lol.
I have to say that I did notice a difference overtime. It wasn’t a massive difference but I did notice some lightening of my scars. I didn’t notice a big difference on my stretch marks but my scars definitely lightened up. I don’t know if there’s anything that would work better on stretch marks but for my scars it worked well. Evolve’s Skin Saviour Body Oil retails for £20.
Overall, I think Evolve has a great line. My favourite would have to be the Evolve Fresh Face Facial Wash, and the Evolve African Orange Aromatic Wash. I also really like the Evolve Radiant Glow Mask (see mini review here). Evolve carries some great products and I love how simplistic and chic the packaging. All of Evolve Organic’s products come in dark glass packaging which is reusable. I’m a sucker for reusable glass packaging – they’re great for DIY’sThe scents of their products are great, no scent was too overpowering and their products didn’t smell like artificial fruits. If you’re looking at getting a friend some luxury gifts, Evolve would be a good brand to look at – your friend won’t be mad at it!
