Flourish kindly let me test out their Custom Sample Service to feed back to you guys what I think of it and give you a mini review on the products. I got samples from RMS, Skin & Tonic, Sister & Co, Evolve, and Absolution.
Most of the skincare samples, I could get 2-3 uses from. Although some of them I could push it 4-5 uses which is really good. It gives you a nice feel for the product so you can make up your mind on if you like it or not.
I had tried this quite a long time ago and I just wanted to jog my memory on how I enjoyed it, especially now that I use the RMS Eye Polish in Lunar as a highlight. This gives off more of a silvery sheen to the skin which I enjoy more for an everyday sort of look i.e. taking my brother to the cinema, quick trip to Nandos…the gym (LOL kidding I don’t go to the gym). I do like it but I much prefer the RMS Eye Polish in Lunar. I think it suits warmer skin tones better but if you’re quite fair, you’d love this. This retails for £30. It’s a cult fav, so there are so many reviews on this and if you’ve got paler skin I’d say take the plunge, but for warmer and deeper skin tones, I’d say get a sample. As far as I’m concerned though, you need one of them in your life because Rose Marie Swift has got it downnnnn with the highlights. You may find that you prefer a brighter/warmer highlight.
Luxury at it’s finest. I think I got 4-5 uses from this oil. Sit’s wonderfully under makeup. When I had dry patches, it worked a dream on them. It smells strongly of rosehip oil so it really reminds of of Pai’s Rosehip oil. It came in a cute teeny weeny glass bottle which I just want to keep so it can sit there and be cute and useless (that should be the slogan for Tiger stores all over the UK). At £60 per bottle, I’d say definitely pick up a sample before making that commitment.
I’ve been dying to try a natural cream bronzer but just didn’t want to cough up the money for something I may or may not enjoy. Especially since my makeup tends to slide off my face, so I’ve stuck with the safer option of powder bronzers for the most part. The colour of this bronzer is divineeee. Glowy bronze at it’s finest. You can pick up the full size for £25.
I ordered this coral pop of colour for Summer but I kept forgetting to pull this out so I may save it for next Summer/Spring. This is a multiuse product and it retails for £28.
This mask had me close to inhaling it. Smells just like chocolate. It has lovely exfoliating properties, but it’s moisturizing at the same time. If you’re a chocolate love, you’ll love this. Cacao also has anti aging properties so who said chocolate couldn’t be a good thing? The full size retails for £18.
I wanted to love this, mostly because I was going to purchase the full size before trying it out. The texture was lovely but it may be more suited to someone with a paler complexion because I did not really notice a difference on the first use. It may be something that would gradually work if I applied it daily but I like to notice a substantial difference from the first use. The full size retails for £16 so I’m glad I got to try before I purchased this.
This is basically a lip balm. Long story short I don’t think I’d purchase the full size. It just felt like I was putting pure shea butter on my lips. This doesn’t necessarily mean that it wasn’t a good moisturising lip balm because it was but in my opinion I’d rather just purchase 100% Pure Shea Butter. It will work out cheaper and doest the same thing. It retails for £10.
For a sugar scrub, this was rather salty. Now I know you’re not meant to consume the scrub lol but with this particular scrub I don’t feel that I had much of a choice. After using the scrub, the taste would always be left on my lips and it was not pleasant. It also smelt like seasoning and it was a very strong scent, not a very enjoyable scent either so I’d pass on this one. The full size retails for £20 so I’m glad I got to try this out before losing Nandos money on a rather salty sugar scrub.
Love it! This little sample lasted me about 5 uses. A little spreads a long way and it really energizes the skin. It slapped my face awake in the nicest way possible. It smells of strongly of spearmint but I love that. I apply the balm onto a dry face and massage it in for a minute, place a hot face cloth over my face, leave it on until it cools and wipe. I repeat this twice for a lovely deep cleansing of my pores. The 50kg full size comes with an Organic Cotton Face Cloth and retails for £27.
This was my first time trying anything from this brand. This was a great deep red lip colour. Perfect for Autumn or as my American readers like to say “fall”. The colour payoff is great – very pigmented. Whilst being matt (not super liquid lipstick matt though), it’s also moisturizing. The full size retails for £24 but I find that in particular it’s important to try lipstick samples before you purchase. They always look different online from in reality as I’ve learnt the expensive way since converting to Green Beauty.
This is a great rose colour. Super pretty and wearable and comfortable on the lips. This also retails for £24 leaving you with the same semi matt finish. I really like this and may go ahead and order the full size.
Overall, really happy that Flourish have a Custom Sample Service. It’s so much fun to try out new products and play with them without having to empty my pockets completely. It’s also really lovely that Flourish offer 10% off your next order for ordering samples. Makes you feel like you didn’t unnecessarily spend however many pounds on samples on top of how much you’re paying for the full price items. Penny scraping at it’s finest.
