Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about the Hero Beauty Babe Balm (what a sassy name). Hero Beauty is a new skincare line launched by the lovely girls from the Clean Beauty Co; Elise and Dominika. Hero Beauty brings together luxury and natural in a fun and modern way formulating products with hero ingredients.
Hero Beauty Babe Balm is a multi-purpose beauty balm and the “hero” ingredient is Coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q10 is an enzyme that naturally occurs in the body and aids the skin in repairing itself. The other main ingredients include Pink and White Clays (helps to detoxify and draw out impurities) and Tropical Butters – including Mango and Monoi (which makes it smell so yummy and amazing). It also includes ingredients include Kokum butter, Squalene, Hibiscus and Calendula. The balm is a really cute peach sorbet colour which comes from the Pink Sweet Potato extract (who knew pink sweet potato existed??).
So just how multi-purpose is it you ask? Well you could use it to moisturise your face and lips. You could also use it to take your brows, condition your cuticles, or apply it to your elbows, knees, hands and feet to get rid of dry skin. You can even use Hero Beauty Babe Balm as a highlighter. The girls at Clean Beauty Co have even suggested using it for makeup application.
Considering that the ingredients are mostly oil based it sounds like a dream for a person with dry skin. My skin is oilier side of normal so I didn’t think I’d get on with this too well. But I’ve managed to use it for a base for applying glitter eyeshadow. I’ve used it on the high points on my face on a minimal makeup day to get a lovely natural healthy looking highlight. It’s also perfect to apply after derma rolling to help the skin repair itself. After derma rolling or micro needling (whatever you want to call it) sometimes my skin tends to get quite tight and dry, and Babe Balm is perfect to relieve that.
I received Babe Balm as a PR package and it comes with some pretty biodegradable pink glitter dust. My initial thoughts were to use the dust on my eyelids and to test out how well the balm would act as an adhesive for that. Honestly it looked so pretty but my eye lids are quite oily so the glitter did begin to transfer into my crease. However someone with drier skin could get on with this. But it did look pretty whilst it lasted.
For 60ml of product, the Hero Beauty Babe Balm is priced at £28. For me this will last me ages because a little goes such a long way. This sassy little balm really packs a punch. It is on the pricier side but it is a luxury product. In fact I think it would make a really lovely gift. You can pick it up from the Clean Beauty Co website and Content Beauty.
Overall I was surprised at how much I could use this considering my skin is oily. I didn’t apply it as a moisturiser but even when I used it as a highlighter I did not get any clogged pores or breakout. It smells amazing and feels like a quality product. I love the fact that it’s peach – it makes it so much more fun to use over my other balms – it’s silly but I do gravitate towards things that are pretty and appealing to look at.
