Hi guys. Today I’m reviewing the Madara Charcoal Detox Soap. I’m not normally a fan of soap bars but the charcoal detox element of this intrigued me.
I picked up mine from Love Lula for £8.95. In comparison to most natural shower gels and soaps this is relatively cheap. It might not seem it but the bar of soap seems to last way longer than shower gel does so it’s more economical.
I just wet the bar of soap, apply it to exfoliating gloves or a shower scrunch and it lathers up on my body really easily. You only need to use a little.
How good is it for the environment?
The Madara Charcoal Detox Soap is more eco-friendly than shower gel because theres no plastic packaging. Just the sleek black cardboard packaging that it arrives in and then you can pop it in a soap dish.
It’s also 100% biodegradable.
No other natural soap has left me feeling as clean and refreshed as the Madara Charcoal Detox Soap. It leaves you feeling borderline squeaky clean but without feeling icky (if that makes any sense) which I don’t mind, especially during the really hot summer we’ve just had in London, after sweaty work outs and now the lovely breast feeding sweats.
I’m left feeling squeaky clean although this can tend to feel drier on your skin but applying a body lotion or oil after balances my skin’s moisture levels quickly.
Moreover I feel that deodorants work better after washing with the Madara Charcoal Detox Soap as it detoxes any deodorant, sweat, toxin build-up in your underarms. In turn this brightens your underarms slightly also. The Madara Charcoal Detox Soap has been really useful especially now that I’m breast feeding I’m extra cautious to use natural deodorants so that it doesn’t get to the baby, only although on some days I have completely forgotten to apply deodorant (newborn babies really mess with your brain lol) and there is still no smell coming from my pits.
I was also getting a little body acne on my legs and it seems to have stopped this completely.
As an added bonus, it’s been really effective in avoiding heat rash. I can get heat-rash when it’s really hot which is usually caused by the inability for sweat to escape. I often get this on my neck and chest but a light cleanse with the Madara Charcoal Detox Soap really helps reduce heat rash.
- One of the main ingredients is activated charcoal which draws out toxins and impurities
- Coconut oil – I know coconut oil makes some people break out so you might want to avoid this if that’s the case. Although there is coconut oil in this, there is no oily residue left on the skin.
- Jojoba Seed Oil which has amazing anti-inflammatory properties and is great for healing the skin. It is also very close to the skin’s natural sebum so balances your skin’s natural oils.
- The soap is sulfate, palm and microplastic free.
I love it. I’m totally not going to knock down bar soaps anymore because this is one of my favourite products to wash my body. It’s kind on my pockets, great to my skin and pits and really makes me never want to get out of the shower.
