Welcome back guys. I’m finally back with another review and this time I’m talking nail polish and in particular the RMS Beauty Nail Polish in the colour Curious.
I’ve been avoiding wearing nail polish since I got pregnant because of the dangerous toxins in nail polish but the RMS Beauty Nail Polish line is formulated without all the harmful chemicals. Regular exposure to nail polish can have negative effects on your unborn. For example Formaldehyde can expose your baby to cancer risks and Toluene can damage your baby’s nervous system and can cause your child to be born with birth defects.
But RMS Beauty have 6-free formula which if you don’t know means that it is free of the 6 biggest offenders found in most nail polishes. 6-free nail polishes do not include dibutyl phthalate, toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor or parabens. It’s also vegan for those of you that are looking for cruelty free products.
If you know me, you know that orange nails are my absolute fav especially in summer. And with the recent hot weather we’ve had in London I had to get myself a cleaner orange nail polish so I picked up the RMS Beauty Nail Polish in Curious. RMS Beauty also have a matching Lip2Cheek pot so you can match your lips and cheeks to your nails.
I picked up Curious from Love Lula. It typically retails for £14 but was on half price for £7 for 1.07oz.
Colour wise this isn’t the brightest orange. It’s a sort of muted orange so if tangerine orange isn’t you’re thing you might like this. It’s a slightly rusty orange which is nice but I would have loved a bright orange. I think this would look great on people with fairer skin.
The brush isn’t my favourite brush but it was pretty standard – similar to the Essie brushes. I do prefer flatter paddle shaped brushes.
But the formula is lovely. It’s nice and creamy and dries quicker than other natural nail polishes that I’ve used. However I do have to use 3 coats so that it’s fully opaque.
This isn’t a super shiny glossy formula so if you are after that extra shine I’d use a top coat.
It lasts well without chipping. I always manage to chip my nails within a day usually but this managed to last 4 days before chipping.
Overall I think it’s a nice nail polish. I’d prefer a brighter orange but I like that they have matching Lip2Cheek pots to go with the nail colours. I also sometimes prefer that the lighter nude shades aren’t so opaque because I like that transparency so I might try the nude shades next time.
